What you'll learn in this food tours class:

Taste some of Spain's most authentic foods and wines, and discover the true “tapeo” experience.

During this 2 hour tour, we'll visit 3 locations within a 5 -10 minute walk in SoHo, Nolita and Little Italy. Ranging from classic shops to newly opened restaurants, all of these locations share one thing in common, they're owned and operated by families of Spanish origin with an insatiable passion for their culture.

From paella to croquettes, cheese to Spanish omelette, we'll taste some traditional tapas as well as some more modern takes of Spanish cuisine, all perfectly paired with outstanding regional wines.

Learn while you taste about:
  • the fascinating history behind each tapa,
  • the best wine regions of Spain, which have most NYC somms raving,
  • the cool culture that is España and why this is a prime destination for your next travel.
Learn the fascinating history behind each tapa and the best wine regions of Spain, which have most NYC somms raving.

We were running late and Tatiana was extremely understanding and accommodating. She was so knowledgable, kind and inviting. We had patatas bravas and paella at Socarrat along with two wines. The owner of the restaurant even came out and introduced himself to us. After that we went to the Spanish wine shop next to Despaña. We tried two wines and had two tapas there. Everything was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Both this course and Tatiana (the teacher) were FANTASTIC. Tatiana was super knowledge, engaging and overall incredibly lovely. She did a fantastic job explaining the wine and the pairings and augmenting the experience with additional facts and anecdotes of her own travels and she did a great job including everyone and getting all members to really engage in the tastings. Each location was intimate and perfect for the small group size. The wine store location was awesome and the folks working there added their own expertise to the tour and it made for a really great experience where you could also purchase affordable and unique wines. The last stop had phenomenal tapas and was a delicious way to end the day. I would 100% recommend this class and will absolutely be taking others!
