Miryam Alter

Teaches at Continuing Professional Studies at Bank

Miryam Alter has taught elementary and middle school math for over thirty years. She is the chairperson of the math department at Manhattan Day School, and in this capacity coaches all math teachers within the school and oversees the math curriculum, Grades 1-8. She has given numerous math workshops for the Gruss Educational Foundation and Teaching Matters Inc. to schools in the New York City metropolitan area. She has also presented math workshops to education majors at Stern College and Touro College in New York City. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Brooklyn College with a major in mathematics, and a Masters’ Degree in Computer Education from Bank Street College of Education.
