Description
What you'll learn in this stand up comedy class:
In this 4-week workshop taught by veteran comedian Carole Montgomery, you'll learn the basics of joke writing, brainstorm ideas for material, present that material on the Q.E.D. stage, receive feedback from Carole and fellow students and, finally, perform your five minutes at a "graduation" show with fellow students.The class is conducted on the Q.E.D. stage so you'll also get comfortable with holding a microphone and speaking in front of people.
Students will also receive an Admit two pass good for admission to a future show and a 50% discount off a future PR & Marketing 101 class held at QED taught by owner Kambri Crews.
COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES & QED POLICIES
- Though we highly encourage vaccinations and booster shots, no proof of vaccination will no longer be required.
- Masks optional but not required.
- By attending an event at QED, all patrons are acknowledging their consent to, and agree to abide by, the safety precautions that have been adopted, which may include the wearing of face coverings.
- As public health conditions and the City/State’s guidance for performing arts and live entertainment change, QED will remain flexible and adapt to applicable health protocols, such as face coverings and health screenings. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to posted start time to allow time for vaccination screening and check in, seating and getting drinks & snacks. We place all hot food orders at once at the top of the show to limit disruptions.
School Notes:
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. QED has coffee, tea, soda, beer & wine plus snacks and pre-made wraps and sandwiches available.

Refund Policy
We require at least seven (7) days' notice before a class in order to issue a refund and there are no transfers to future classes allowed. We're a small operation and purchase our own supplies and keep classes extremely affordable, so we have to operate this way just to stay in business.
But, all is not lost, tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.
In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If we do cancel for weather or an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.
