Ben Lenzner

Ben Lenzner is an artist, filmmaker, storyteller, and writer. With a MFA in Documentary Media from Ryerson University and a PhD in Screen & Media Studies from the University of Waikato, Ben's work provides unique vantage points and offers new narrative approaches for documentary storytelling. A true believer that art & collaboration can bring communities together, some of his recent projects have examined citizen journalism in the Kashmir Valley, emerging art practices in the Indian state of Maharashtra and the relationship between communities and refugees on the Italian/French border. 

His clients have included The Guardian, the 360Plus Leadership Collective, the visual artist Krishnaswamy and his works have screened at The Barbican, Anthology Film Archives, Ryerson Image Centre, Nuit Blanche Toronto, amongst many others. He has taught lens based media in the community programs department of the International Center of Photography, the University of Waikato, & Ryerson University. Born & raised in NYC, Ben divides his time between New York City & India.
