Description
What you'll learn in this furniture class:
Design and create an original utensil in solid hardwood! In this 4-session course, you will be introduced to methods of carving and shaping solid wood. Using the band saw, carving gouges and rasps, you will create a utensil of your own design while focusing on the functionality, beauty and originality of the object. With the aim of developing your personal aesthetic and skills to achieve more sophisticated design solutions, you will gain the confidence to incorporate carved elements into your future projects. A comprehensive lesson on band saw operation and safety will be included as ample assisted design time. A quality carving gouge and rasp are included in the course fee to promote continued use of the tools and techniques learned in class.

A: Yes, it's very safe. We have respirators available for both dust and finishing fumes.
Wear shop-appropriate clothing - comfortable shoes and no loose or hanging items.
