Question from T.D.
The hours say 10-6pm. What is the itinerary for the class?
Question from Megan C.
What materials should I have before booking a class? I just bought my first machine but didn't buy anything else yet.
Question from Kathleen J.
I’m not clear, does this sewing 101 (private) class (1 hr) teach enough that I would be able to take the beginner pattern class next?
Answer from kristine F. Verified Educator
Hi Kathleen! In private lessons, we can teach anything you'd like and at your own pace. You could start a pattern-making lesson at any time. Whatever interests you! For the Beginner Pattern Making Class, I would recommend taking our Sewing 101 Class or taking a few private lessons to get really comfortable with the sewing machine first. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Question from anonymous
Is there an additional cost for the fabric & supplies?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! They sell supplies for sewing projects that are $12 each. Thank you.
Question from michael R.
Can you do private lessons on Sony computer machines?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Mike! The instructor teaches on Janome Sewist 500 machines, but you can bring your own machine if you’d like. Hope this helps!
Question from anonymous
Can you teach me on an industrial sewing machine like a Juki?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! They do not have an industrial machine at the sewing center, but they do offer in-home lessons and if you have that machine they can teach you how to use it. If you're interested, send us a message at [email protected] so we can arrange it for you.

Mary was awesome (patient and thorough); her communication skills were keen and it was easy to understand her instructions. I informed Mary that when I sign up for my next sewing class I would ask for her as my instructor.
