What you'll learn in this beginner drawing class:
Enjoy in-person, outdoor adult classes with New York City’s #1-rated art studio, The Art Studio NY! With small groups of 13 participants maximum, we will express our inner-artists in spacious, beautiful outdoor locations in Central Park.
Feel inspired by our parks, gardens, landscapes, and city architecture as you learn artistic techniques, explore drawing materials, receive expert art instruction based on your needs and interests, and create unique artwork to feel proud of. Come with a friend or make new friends… All are welcome!
Small group art instruction is provided so each participant both stays safe and receives ongoing personalized attention and guidance tailored to your skill level, needs and interests.
In our outdoor class, adults will:
- Explore and learn new drawing techniques while tapping into your unique self-expression.
- Enjoy tailor-made, encouraging and non-judgemental one-on-one expert art instruction from our New York City art educators.
- Learn how to draw “En Plein Air” like the masters Monet and Renoir.
- Tap into your personal, unique artistic style.
We are committed to the safety and health of our students and staff. To ensure a safe learning experience, our outdoor art classes will:
- Take place during less crowded times and days or spaces in parks.
- Students will provide their own picnic blankets for sitting on the grass, benches, or other park surfaces.
- Data has shown outdoor classes to be the safest option for outdoor learning.
- Feel inspired and learn to create en plein aire outdoors, like many famous artists have.
- Peace of mind, calmness and anxiety reduction from being in nature.
Meeting Location and Time:
This class will meet in Central Park, specific location will be provided upon registration.
Art Class Materials:
Materials are not included.
Please bring:
- a pencil
- a kneaded eraser
- a vinyl eraser
- drawing paper (a Sketch or Drawing pad you feel comfortable carrying)
- vine charcoal
- a few paper towels, napkins, or baby wipes
- Optional: Water, a blanket
Refund Policy
Class tuition is neither non-refundable nor transferable. No refunds will be issued after registration and payment. In case of a Medically Certified illness, a credit will be issued after receipt of your physician’s documentation. The value of the credit will be for the balance of the remaining class sessions with an additional deduction of a $95 registration fee. Credit may be used up to 12 months.
If after your first class you are dissatisfied with the quality of your course, a written note must be submitted within 1 business day after your first class. After receiving your note, refund of class tuition will be reviewed by our staff. If a refund is granted, processing of refunds requires 8-10 weeks. A 5% nonrefundable processing fee will be applied.
Course Cancellations
Although course cancellation is quite rare, The school reserves the right to cancel classes or change instructor assignments and makes every effort to notify students in advance. If enrollment goals are not met, a course may be canceled up to 1 business day before the first scheduled class. In the event of cancellation, a refund or credit is granted. On occasion, a course start-date will be pushed back if enrollment goals are not met. In this instance, you will receive a credit for the price of the class that did not take place.
Please note that there will be NO exceptions to this under any circumstances.
Make-up Policy
Unfortunately, The school does not offer any makeups for classes missed. However, if the student wants to get the most from the course and the absence, they can tell the instructor when they will be absent and the instructor can provide some guidance on exercises to practice while away.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
