Dive into the realm of unique studio portraiture or still life, mastering the transformation from negative to positive images. Gain hands-on experience with ultra-large format cameras and leave with both prints and newfound skills to create distinctive solarized paper positives independently.
Explore joomchi, a unique Korean traditional way of making textured handmade paper.
You will discover its history, practice and role in Korean society, as well as learning the hands-on techniques and reinterpreted adaptations into a contemporary art form. Joomchi creates strong and painterly textured surfaces by layering and agitating Hanji (Korean mulberry papers). Its usage is diverse and can be incorporated into surface design, collage, new ways of drawing, or for wearable, unconventional body ornaments.
Joomchi can also be used as 2D and 3D sculptural objects that are functional or fine art oriented. Open to all skill levels.

In the event that some or all of the meetings of the program cannot happen in person, programs will be held at the scheduled time in a virtual format via a video conferencing platform. The programs will continue through hands-on, at-home activities, lectures, presentations, and/or group discussions. No refunds will be issued should any portion of a course be held virtually.
We are not responsible for providing makeup classes or issuing refunds for programs missed as a result of illness, emergencies or other events beyond our control.
There are no refunds for outings, classes or workshops that meet fewer than three times per semester.

Refunds are computed from the date written notice is received. To receive a refund, you must enclose the original of your confirmation letter.
Please allow three to four weeks for processing of your refund request.
Processing fees, membership fees, auditions fees and class or exercise cards are not refundable. No cash refunds.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
