System Requirements: Here are the system requirements for to use our web conferencing software depending on what device you use. You need:
  • A Windows or Mac computer (or iPad)
  • A strong internet connection
  • A microphone and speakers
  • (usually built-in to your computer or USB headset) or a phone
  • A webcam to use HDFaces
  • (most newer laptops have them built in)
Most computers have built-in microphones and speakers, but you will get much better audio quality if you use a headset or handset. For sound, you can also call in on your landline or mobile device.

What you'll learn in this tv writing class:

You have all the elements of a great Spec: a great show, an original premise and a solid beat sheet. Unfortunately, the thought of actually writing the spec draft fills you with dread every time you stare down at the blank screen. No problem!

Our instructor will take you through the paces in this seven-week Online TV Spec Draft Writing Workshop. She will help you hone your beat sheets, turn them into an outline, and craft your fresh new take on an existing show with pizazz. She will also show you how to write that killer opening scene and turn your detailed roadmap into literary gold. By the end of the class, you’ll have made progress on your first draft and be on your to way to revising it. Fellowship invitation not included.

Prerequisites: Beat sheet of a spec episode of an existing TV show.


Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Credit may be offered based on class availability. If you can’t come to class, call or email us as far in advance as possible. We will do everything we can to fill your spot, but we can’t make any guarantees. Credit eligibility is not based upon your reason for being unable to attend a class; it is based upon the timing of your credit request and our ability to fill your spot. If we find someone to take your place, you will receive class credit minus a $25 processing fee for 1 day classes and $50 processing fee for long classes. In that case, your class credit will be good for a year from the original sign up date and will expire after that. Otherwise, you will forfeit your payment/payments.
