Develop your voice-over acting skills in a professional studio environment. You will have the option to record voice-over spots in a fully equipped professional recording studio while receiving live coaching from Barry Shapiro, or if you are located outside the New York area, you can participate remotely. During this session, you will record up to ten polished spots that you can use directly in building your professional voice-over demo reel.
Barry Shapiro is the owner of Herman and Lipson Casting, where he has spent over thirty-seven years building a legendary career in casting. Throughout his tenure, he has cast more than eight thousand commercials spanning both voice-over and on-camera work for major brands including L'Oreal, ESPN, Advil, Verizon, and Toys' R Us, among many others. His extensive experience extends globally, covering commercial casting as well as film, television, and theatre projects worldwide.
During class, each actor performs voice-over scenes while receiving detailed instruction and coaching from Barry across a variety of commercial scripts. This highly engaging and dynamic class provides valuable feedback and professional guidance from someone who has worked with countless actors throughout the industry. You will also have the opportunity to ask Barry important questions about advancing your voice-over career, obtaining call-backs and bookings, and discovering available work opportunities.
Preparation Instructions:
Please prepare two to three commercial copy scripts for each class session. Ensure that each spot does not exceed forty-five seconds in length.
