Description

What you'll learn in this stone setting class:

Learn how to make beautiful prong settings for rose cut and cabochon stones. I’ll show you the fastest and easiest ways, and we will finish your piece in one day.

Are materials provided and included in cost of the class? No, students can purchase all tools and supplies at the studio. 

Materials you need to bring to class :
For this course, students can bring their own supplies or purchase the following supplies: 
  • a cabochon or rose cut stone (flat bottomed)
  • Magnesia Block $10.00
  • Dowel Set $6.00
  • Metals: 10 dwt $30.00 (0.040 sterling silver sheet-sterling
  • round wire- sterling ½ round wire)
  • Hard Solder $3.50
  • Sharpie $2.50
  • Prong sandpaper set $1.75
Additional Materials :You should also bring:
  • some full and needle size files
  • shears (scissors)
  • chain and round nose pliers 
You may need them depending on whether you choose a pendant, ring. etc.

Important things to note : 
  • There is a beginner tool kit available for $282.64 which contains all the basic hand tools, silver, and stones needed to complete the first project. If you already have some tools, bring them.  
  • All the larger or specialized equipment such as torches, kilns, hammers, vises, setting tools, daps, drawplates, mandrels, pickle, mills, steel blocks, third arms, enamels, etc are provided for student use free of charge.

Refund Policy

Refund less 5% cancellation fee is available if cancellation request comes in 11 business days or more before the class starts.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    Class advertises 4-5 students but there were about 7 for one teacher. It over-crowded, and rushed towards the end because we were running out of time. We shouldn't have started 20 minutes late!
