In this class, you and a friend will work together to design and make ONE beautiful custom stained glass piece as a team.
Stained glass represents one of the most beautifully preserved and enduring traditional crafts in human history. The processes and time-honored techniques have remained largely consistent over many centuries, but the unique and distinctive piece that you personally design and create during this workshop will be completely one-of-a-kind and will forever serve as a tribute to your creative abilities and artistic talents.
This workshop is thoughtfully designed for those new to the craft but will be equally enjoyable for participants with previous stained glass experience, particularly because of the tremendous creative freedom and flexibility you are allowed when designing your personal piece. This workshop is wonderful for anyone who wishes to explore small form sculpture, glass art, color theory, and line design principles.
During this workshop, our knowledgeable and experienced guides will introduce you to the rich and fascinating world of stained glass, teach you the fundamental essentials of designing stained glass artwork, and provide comprehensive instruction in all the techniques and skills involved in the traditional Tiffany soldering method to bring your design to life. This instruction will include valuable design tips and strategies, hands-on support with selecting and shaping each glass element, and finally, soldering all the pieces together. You will leave the workshop carrying a beautiful one-of-a-kind stained glass artwork that you designed and built yourself.
We provide abundant reference pictures and helpful templates to assist you in developing your design throughout the workshop session. You are very welcome to bring your own design ideas, sketches, or visual references with you, and our guides will help you enthusiastically transform your creative vision into a finished piece.
