Taught by CFA Faculty, Evan Kitson, the muscular system gives life and narrative potential to the human figure. Through the study of the form and function of the muscular system, we're able to gain a greater insight into how the body may compose itself. In this six-week online course, we'll spend each lesson on a major system of movement in the human figure. In these studies, we'll prioritize gesture, proportion, perspectival cues, structure, as well as character. We'll be making use of historic drawings, paintings, and sculptures as our dissected source imagery, giving us a wide variety of materials and methods to discuss in addition to the anatomy.
This course is ideal for someone looking to get into artistic figure anatomy, or for someone looking to refine their current anatomical knowledge.
References will be provided. Material use is very open.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
