John Nevarez

Teaches at Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art

John Nevarez has been an artist within the animation industry for over 17 years, first working at Disney Television as a storyboard revisionist and storyboard artist on such shows as Pepper Ann, Kim Possible and then transitioning over as a designer for DisneyToons, where he worked on Tinkerbell, Kronk’s New Groove and Brother Bear 2. John also provided environment design for Imagi’s Astroboy.

Additionally, John has worked at Pixar Animation Studios where he created designs for Cars 2, Monsters University and Lee Unkrich’s Dia de los Muertos project.

Currently, John is working as a Concept Location Designer for Rovio Animation, as well as on his own personal books.
