Vanessa Sharpe

Teaches at Santa Monica College

Vanessa Lu Sharpe was born in Taipei, Taiwan and studied at Fu Shing Art School for fine arts. After she graduated, she worked for 8 years in Product and Graphic design in Taipei. She came to America to study at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. From there, she worked in Product design and started teaching art on Saturdays to children. She has taught for 21 years and opened her own studio in Artesia, CA where she continues to teach kids and adults. She teaches both Western and Eastern art styles. She is fluent in traditional Chinese calligraphy, ink landscapes, and traditional watercolor. She also taught Chinese painting classes at Cal State Long Beach and Cerritos city college.
