What you'll learn in this painting class:

We are going to transcribe one small painting per class of an image by a master artist that you feel a connection too.
The reason for doing this is to experience from the inside the issues And problems that they experienced and resolved in the process of making.

It could be light, color, form, structure, space or something else that inspires you, but by doing this, making this for ourselves, we will grapple with those issues and in doing so make them our own, absorbing those issues so that they can organically become a part of our oeuvre.

You’ll need paints and a surface up paint on.

We will connect prior to the first class so the image you’d like to work on can be chosen.

Peter has an ability to push and encourage each person’s talent. I recall an example of a statement which resonated with me to my core, comparing an individual artist to a person’s voice. We each have our own style and voice which needs to be developed, and is so powerfully unique! One can give the tools, but that one voice/artist tapping into their own experience is excitingly powerful. I felt the nurturing of my own talent emerging through my experience with Peter, as well as the “students” who were so supportive, as more of a mentor or coach through these eight classes. Highly recommended!!!
