You will learn to fabricate several different styles of clasps in sterling silver in this class. Techniques covered will include a hook with secondary butterfly clasp, a two-part sliding hook, and interlocking shapes clasp and a box clasp.
This is the second teaching engagement in the Washington DC metro area for Alex and presents an incredible opportunity to learn from, and work with, a leading goldsmith and educator. All of his students last time enjoyed working with Alex very much, If expanding your skill level is something you strive for this workshop will be of interest. We are very fortunate to have had Alex add Jewelryclassdc to his busy schedule.
Prerequisite: Intermediate to advanced skills are necessary.
Additional fee: Precious metals kit will be purchased by students from Alex to save cost. The materials kit fee is 70.00, students should bring a check, made out to Alex Boyd, for the materials kit to the workshop.
Please Note: Students should not wear loose clothing and should be able to tie their hair back.

Need some bench time? Register for this open studio with access to tools and equipment (no instruction). Proficiency in metalsmithing skills required.
