What you'll learn in this audio software training:

Podcasting has been around for over a decade, but when Sarah Koenig launched Serial in 2014, the medium was thrust into popular culture. Today, it's one of the most powerful ways to deliver entertaining and thought-provoking stories and conversations to an engaged audience.

Podcasting isn’t rocket science, but its unique equation of branded storytelling at scale, technology, and marketing across content, influencer, and partner channels requires some know-how to get right. It’s challenging enough to record that first episode, let alone get a handle on the ins and outs of best practices.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll review all aspects of launching a podcast, demystifying the process so that you can start podcasting right away—whether you are looking to start a podcast at your company or launch one on your own. You'll learn about popular formats, how to uniquely position your show, and tips for launching on a limited budget. We'll also dive into using distribution platforms like iTunes and SoundCloud, measurement fundamentals, and creative ways to market your show. You’ll leave armed with the knowledge you need to bring great stories to listeners worldwide.

Takeaways
  • Understand what equipment you need to get going
  • Learn editing tips and tricks
  • Understand how to select an online platform to host your podcast
  • Learn how to create relevant show-related content
  • Understand how to prepare for your interviews with guests
  • Learn how to market your podcast and reach listeners
Prereqs & Preparation
  • This workshop is for beginners, but students of all levels are welcome.
  • Bring a laptop and note-taking materials.
  • Come to the workshop with a prepared outline for a show. (Your outline doesn’t need to be incredibly detailed, but be sure to include a rough idea of what you would like your show to be about, the show’s ideal audience, and your goals.)

School Notes:
For students enrolling in 12 week part time and immersive classes, it is not recommended that you book more than one class simultaneously.
