Julie Nakagawa Böttcher

Teaches at Lou Conte Dance Studio

Julie, from Evanston, Illinois, was a featured dancer with Christopher D'Amboise's Off Center Ballet, Cleveland Ballet and Twyla Tharp Dance. Returning to Chicago upon her retirement from dancing, she has been especially interested in the development of young artists. Nakagawa Böttcher joined HSDC in January of 1994. In addition to her responsibilities with Hubbard Street 2, she teaches company class for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's main company. Nakagawa Böttcher is a co-chair of the Artists Council for Dance/USA and has served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts Access to Artistic Excellence category.
