Sara Shermis

Teaches at The House of Yogi

Sara found yoga as a stressed out college student, and immediately found her forever love after that first class. She was amazed at how much yoga helped her to feel like the best version of herself: stronger, inspired and more present. After college Sara spent time in San Francisco working in the financial district, but felt unfulfilled. She quit her job and decided to move back to her roots in San Diego to pursue her hearts true passion, which has always been yoga.

Sara completed her first 200 hour yoga teacher training at La Jolla Yoga Center, where she found even more enthusiasm for her passion, a new love for meditation, as well as community. Her thirst to learn more about yoga and meditation lead Sara to Nosara, Costa Rica, where she completed a 300 hour yoga teacher training with Awakened Life School of Yoga in Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative. Sara was not only exposed to different types of yoga and meditation, but was surrounded by teachers who inspired her to look beyond and grow.

The classes Sara teaches are creative, with unique transitions inspired by her self-practice. Teaching yoga has lead Sara to lead a fulfilling life, one where community, creativity and passion are present every day.
