Stefanie Zadravec

Teaches at Primary Stages ESPA

Stefanie Zadravec is a resident playwright at New Dramatists, a current NYFA Fellow in playwriting, and the 2014 playwright-in-residence at The Women’s Project. Stefanie received the 2013 Francesca Primus Prize for her play THE ELECTRIC BABY, and her new play COLONY COLLAPSE was one of four finalists for the inaugural Shakespeare’s Sister Fellowship.  Her play HONEY BROWN EYES (Theater J; Working Theater) received the 2006 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play.  Stefanie’s current projects include several new play commissions: THE BOAT (The Working Theater/NYSCA); COLONY COLLAPSE (Oregon Shakespeare Festival/Mellon Foundation); and THE NOCTURNAL CRY OF A GREAT POTOO (The Women’s Project). Honors include: Lark Play Development Center Fellowship, Playwrights Realm Fellowship, Sustainable Arts Foundation Writing Award, Dramatists Guild Fellowship, The Women’s Project Lab, PlayPenn, a Sewanee Writers Conference Fellowship, Women in Arts and Media Award. Stefanie’s work has been produced/developed at The Kennedy Center, The Women’s Project, The Lark, New Dramatists, San Francisco Playhouse, The Working Theater, Theater 167, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Two River Theater Co, and Theater J, among others. Her plays are published by Dramatists Play Service and featured in Best Women’s Stage Monologues (Smith & Kraus).
