This hands-on course will teach students the basics and beyond for programming their parts for a CNC lathe or mill-turn tool machine. The topics presented in this course enable users to take a completed 3D solid model and program the part from setup to toolpaths and then post-process the G-code.
We will learn how to create a setup within Inventor HSM for turned parts. We will then practice all of the different turning operations and learn how or when to select options to get the desired toolpath. Tips and tricks will be covered to make you more productive and teach the software to work for the user. We will also introduce the technique of using sketches and/or models to generate the toolpath desired. Finally, we will learn how to add live tooling operations for your mill-turn tool.
Prerequisite: INV-208
