What you'll learn in this birding class:

Get ready for this year’s Great Backyard Bird Count, February 18 – 21! Learn about the event, how to participate, and all about the birds in your backyard. Find out which birds live in your neighborhood year-round and which ones come to nest during the summer. 

Discover identification techniques, bird behaviors, and tips to attract more birds to your yard. As you become aware of them and listen to their songs, you can more fully enjoy their beauty.

This class will be taught online via Zoom. All registrations must be submitted online two days before your class starts. Registered students will receive login instructions one day in advance.


Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected] 24 hours prior to the program’s start date and time. The registration fee will be refunded less a 10 percent processing charge. A refund is issued in the form of a credit on file (to be used for future programs).

No refunds for cooking classes or supply-heavy horticulture and art classes will be made within 48 hours prior to the class date and time.

Fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable on and after the program’s start date. We cannot refund fees requested on or after the start date of a program or for sessions missed due to student illness or other personal situations.


Registration fees for courses grouped and priced as a series will be considered one program and subject to all of the above guidelines. A refund request must be received prior to the start date of the series' first class session and will subsequently cancel your registration in every session of the series. If you choose to re-register for other sessions in the series, the special discount does not apply.
