This class will demystify and de-stress the process of making ice cream at home. Once you learn the basics, you will wonder why you haven’t been doing it more often. Dust off the ice cream maker because it is time to put it to good use. But if you don’t have one, learn machine-free churning methods and enjoy delicious chilled or baked custards. Learn how to choose the proper ingredients and tools, how to temper eggs, adjust sweetness, and thicken custard.
You will make 2 custard bases from scratch, chill them properly to churn into ice cream, or bake them into custard and finish them as creme brulée. There is minimal prep required for this class.
In this class we will make:
Some Prep required. Freeze ice cream later or the next day if you have an ice cream churner.
You do not need an ice cream machine for this class. Enjoy chilled custard or creme brulee instead of churned ice cream.
