  • Sails past One World Trade Center, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty

Offered from April to early November: Experience a New York City sunset from the water on this evening sightseeing sail past some of the borough's waterside landmarks.

Climb aboard our beautiful 80-foot schooner, the Adirondack, for this peaceful, picturesque sail away from the concrete and noise of the city.

Some views along the way will include:

  • The New York City skyline
  • Battery Park, a 20-acre park at the southern tip of Manhattan, where artillery has been stationed over the centuries
  • Ellis Island, the immigrant doorway to America from 1892 to 1954
  • The Statue of Liberty, a French gift that arrived in New York harbor in 1885 and has come to represent our nation's freedom and ideals

We will be shutting off our engines and setting sail for as much of the trip as possible.

Step aboard the Schooner Adirondack and experience the city's beauty and elegance under the setting sun!

Question from Lisa F.
This sounds like fun, but what is the course component? What are the participants taught? With what skills/knowledge can participants expect to leave?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Lisa! There's not really a "class" component for this specific experience - it's more social. Guests onboard are welcome to ask questions about sailing and the city sights during the cruise and the crew is more than happy to talk with them, But we will not be teaching anything up front. This cruise is more leisurely and is meant for people looking for a relaxing experience on the water.

A nice, relaxing cruise around the city. Got to see some great architecture and see Manhattan from a different perspective. More of a fun/unique thing to do than an educational experience!
