Discover the magic of the Costa Rican rain forest and how its diverse world of plants, insects, vertebrates, and fungi are vital to its survival, which in turn affects the weather patterns of the entire world. We'll cover the intricacies of tropical soils, forest structure, biodiversity, symbiotic relationships, and forest disturbances, and study several plant species found in NYBG's Haupt Conservatory.

Students can transfer into an alternate section without penalty, provided that's done at the time of cancellation, and with sufficient notice. Classes in which material is being mailed to student, require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for changes/cancellations.
Missed Classes
No discounts will be granted for missed classes. There are no refunds or credits 24 hours before a course begins. A refund will be issued if your class is cancelled due to low enrollment. If you wish to withdraw from a course before it begins, you must notify the Registration Office ten full business days before the first class meeting. We will issue a refund minus a $10 processing fee.
Please note: Floral Design materials fees will not be refunded fewer than five (5) business days before class begins.
