Important Thing to Note:

Regarding the meeting place for our tours at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), starting immediately, students will need to enter the American Museum of Natural History via the main Central Park entrance. Once inside the rotunda, they need to make a right to meet their guide and the rest of their group at the tail end of the long-neck Barosaurus.

Note:

Our public Un-Highlights tours are now 16+. Families who show up with children under 16 on tour will be asked to leave the tour with a full refund.

Question from Rochelle S.
We are interested in going on the Hack the American Natural History Museum in New York. I have two questions: 1. What makes this tour special? 2. I have a son who is 15 1/2. Can he go on this tour?
Answer from Rochelle S. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
The school's tours are special because they offer a unique take on the museum experience, focusing on the human stories behind the pieces! They do require guests to be at least 16 years old to come on our public tours, as they are aiming to craft an experience for adults to enjoy with other adults. They are happy to welcome kids of any ages on their private tours at the museum! If this is something you are interested in learning more about.

We have been to the Museum of Natural History many time over the years, but really enjoyed hearing the inside scoop about some of the most popular attractions. Lindsay, our vivacious guide, made it lively and fun!! Who knew where that huge meteorite was found and how it made it to that hallowed building in NYC in the mid 19th venture? And the hilarious prank played on the poor guy responsible for adhering the enormous blue whale to the ceiling in the oceanography hall? You don’t forget these stories.
