The sunny borders between woodlands and the parking lot provide prime habitat for various wild herbs and greens. We'll look for sheep sorrel and wood sorrel, with their wonderful lemony flavors, plus goutweed, which tastes like parsley, carrots, and celery. Poor man's pepper, a common, delicious wild mustard, also appears in great abundance in sunny habitats, and it's even more common invasive relative, garlic mustard, is taking over the forest....

Using illustrative before and after photos of various projects she has executed throughout her long career, landscape designer Jan Johnsen shares 25 specific tips to enhance your garden.
Techniques include "Lure of the Sheltered Corner," "The Principle of Three Depths", "Raising the Canopy", and many more.
Students will be given a handout listing all tips discussed in class.

Refunds and Withdrawals
Students can transfer into an alternate section without penalty, provided that's done at the time of cancellation, and with sufficient notice.
Classes in which material is being mailed to student, require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for changes/cancellations.
Missed Classes
No discounts will be granted for missed classes. There are no refunds or credits 2 business days before a course begins. A refund will be issued if your class is cancelled due to low enrollment. If you wish to withdraw from a course before it begins, you must notify us 11 full business days before the first class meeting. We will issue a refund minus a $10 processing fee.
