Question from Peter A.
Is this class similar to what I could find on Youtube or in book format? It seems super basic and I want something a bit more immediate when it comes to fixing things around the house. Maybe some examples of what level of DIY electrical you have worked on?
Answer from Jenn C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Peter, this class focuses on teaching students how to replace a fuse, change an outlet, install a fixture, test for power and splice a wire. If you feel this class may be too basic for you, we have other Intermediate level classes you might find on the site that could work. Francisco is an excellent teacher. not only does he explain everything thoroughly, he fielded all of our questions & exhibited great patience & a profound love for teaching his subject.

Loved the interactive and hands-on nature of the class. Also appreciated that the instructor was focused on questions we had with regard to our own home renovation projects. It would have, however, been helpful to have some more structure in the begin of the class to teach us some of the fundamentals that I think many of us lacked, before jumping into the interactive section.

More hands on than informative, not in a bad way. Makes you feel confident to change a socket, light switch, or light case. Instructor is great, makes sure everyone is attended to who is showing signs of trouble or is asking for help. Just an overall positive experience, would do again, and am considering the other courses offered with this instructor.
