This Summer, let’s board “Air China” and hop on the “LeapUp” high speed train. We will take your kids on an exciting journey to five Chinese cities. History, geography, architecture, unique customs and traditions, holidays, culinary and more will be introduced to kids in an interactive, fun and immersive language environment.
The program is designed and tailored for children age 4 to 12 with different language proficiency levels. Students will be divided into different groups for age appropriate activities including storytelling, arts, science projects, music and theater, cooking, games and sports etc. They will have the opportunity to participate in special demonstrations and performances such as Peking Opera, Martial Arts, Tea ceremony, Paper Cutting, Chinese Panting and more.
Our lead teachers are native Chinese speakers with extensive teaching experience. They hold advanced degrees in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and Early Childhood Education. Along with our carefully selected and energetic young camp counselors, our team will bring your children a fun and enriching summer experience.
Our Facility
Our camp will be held in airy classrooms and on a large private terrace. The center is located inside the Knickerbocker Plaza on Second Avenue between 91st and 92nd. We are right next to the 91st Rupert Park where campers have daily outdoor activities.

Weekly Plan
Week 1 (7/11 - 7/15): Beijing
Students will explore this capital city of China in depth, learn its past and present stories, and experience the rich cultural and customs. They will take virtual tours of the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Place, Hutong, Beijing Olympic Park, etc. Students will participate in fun activities such as making Peking opera masks, learning Chinese Kung Fu etc.
Week 2 (7/18 - 7/22): Shanghai
As one of the most modernized cities in the world, Shanghai is a fast-changing, dynamic and exciting city to explore. Students will “stroll” along the Bund, studying the architecture of historical landmarks. They will “visit” the Yu Garden, the Jade Temple, traditional alleys, and explore the highrise buildings in Lujiazui financial district to feel the beats of this amazing city.
Week 3 (7/25 - 7/29): Xi’an
The traditional capital city of thirteen dynasties, Xi’an is the starting point of the Silk Road as well as the hometown of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. The highlights of this week are fossil extraction, shadow puppet play, and introduction to famous Xi’an food .
Week 4 (8/1 - 8/5) Hangzhou and Suzhou
“Paradise in Heaven. Suzhou and Hangzhou on Earth.” These two places boast the most picture perfect scenes in Southern China. Marco Polo called Hangzhou “the most beautiful city in the world.” Suzhou is known as the “Venice of the East”. We will visit the Venice of the East, explore the shores of West Lake and classic Chinese gardens. Students will learn the folktales, watch tea ceremonies, raise silkworms, and make paper from scratch.
Week 5 (8/8 - 8/12): Chengdu
The city of Chengdu has played an important role in China’s history for thousands of years. It is also one of the most popular destinations in China. Students will “meet” pandas at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda, and learn everything about pandas. They will visit the local parks, experience the laid-back local life and get a better understanding of Sichuan Cuisine, especially the hot pots.
In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
