Each Summer Art Workshop week is created around a big idea that is explored through drawing, painting, sculpture, collage and more! Projects include collaborative and skill building activities, as well as ongoing projects and free art time. Popular themes are repeated year-to-year, but the projects and art created are as unique as each group of artists. On Fridays, young artists stage an exhibition to share their work with family and friends!
Our artists work daily in their sketchbooks, have recess in the park, and take trips around the neighborhood to find sources of inspiration. Classes are limited to 10 students each, with no more than 18 on any given week. We maintain a high teacher/student ratio with at least one adult per every six students for plenty of one-on-one attention.
Summer Art Workshop 2023 is hosted by Greenpoint Reformed Church. Greenpoint Reformed Church is located at 136 Milton St, between Manhattan Ave and Franklin St and within walking distance of several neighborhood parks and playgrounds. Our programs at GRC support the Greenpoint Reformed Church Hunger Program.
