Virtual Class FAQ

What will be included in my Virtual Class package?

One ticket includes an access link to your live, online class. The class will be delivered via web conferencing software and feature a live, professional instructor who will walk you through a lesson as described above. You will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as participate from home.

How many people is my purchase good for?

Each ticket is good for one "device" (i.e. one computer, phone, tablet, etc. you'll be logging in from). This ensures we don't get more people in the class than the instructor can handle. Though we understand some people live together and will be working/learning together, the intent is that each class still allows for the same attention to attendees as if students purchased separately. Please be respectful of this!

Will I need anything from home to use in the class?

You will need a reliable Internet connection as well as a computer or device with which you can access your virtual class. We recommend you arrive to class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device and connection. Additionally, if the class is more than just a lecture you will likely want any materials listed in the course description as "Materials Needed to Participate Fully", though you're welcome to purchase a seat and sit in and just watch.

Am I able to ask questions or interact with the class?

Yes, you'll both be able to ask questions using the chat function in the video hosting software as well as at certain intervals during the class via voice/audio. If the class winds up being on the smaller side, more spontaneous interaction/questions will be encouraged.

Do I have to show my video or speak during class?

While we recommend you do show your video and speak when encouraged to by the instructor, video and audio participation are never mandatory. We find classes have more fun experiences when people are engaging with one another, but understand not everyone will want to do so and that's ok!

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 2 business days in advance of the class will be honored with a refund less 5% cancellation fee.
  • Students who cancel less than 2 business days prior to the start time of the class will receive a credit towards a future class.
In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.

The class was awesome and so was the trainer. The recipe was simple to follow and bread tasted really well. I just personally feel that for people like me (beginners), it would have been nicer if the class was in two sessions - Day 1 Making the dough and doing some baking Day 2 Baking the bread. But no complaints overall great experience.

It was my first time making bread. The instructor was amazing, patient and a first rate chef. Because of this experience I will try to take all of her classes. Eve Bergazyn was able to comfort me in my stressful moments. The bread was delicious and since then I have made bread on my own.

A great class. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Eve is a great teacher and managed the class well on Zoom, which must be difficult when the class is so hands on. Looking forward to trying another class. Anthony & Liz Some pointers/observations (for Eve, rather than the review): 1. The printed instructions were slightly different to the class itself. Being new to baking, we decided to plan ahead and get a few things ready such as the square pan. Eve used a large flat tray. It turned out not to matter but we quickly oiled a large baking tray before we discovered that the pan was fine! 2. We are in Colorado and it turns out that high altitude baking involves some tweaks to things like amount of water and oven temperature. Those changes weren't made during the class - or at least not until it was too late! Some clear guidelines on the print outs would have been very helpful and avoided some mistakes. 3. In between steps Eve talked about different breads and different ways to do things - great for someone with experience probably - but we would have preferred to focus on the job at hand - being complete novices. 4. We don't have a KitchenAid, just a Braun food processor. The capacity is limited to 2 cups of flour. Some clearer instructions about how the class would be run with or without a food processor would have been helpful eg "both breads can be made either by hand or in a processor - the class will cover both techniques". It is probably obvious to others but for some reason we weren't sure.

Great instructor. Fun and easy to follow recipes. I learned how to make two different kinds of bread in the class, as well as several variations that I can try in the future. I would definitely do another class with this teacher. On to croissants!

It was quite involved class for “first time” baker. The course teacher was wonderful though. It will be better to try to make only one bread and a spread for beginners. My focaccia burnt as I missed the part when to take that out :(

The class itself was phenomenal. Clear instructions, good management when one participant was talking incessantly, and able to give good feedback over Zoom about what our dough/bread required. The only issue was working with Coursehorse beforehand. When we bought the class, we received the ingredients list and the wrong recipe. I emailed coursehorse four or five times trying to get the correct recipe however never heard back. Having the recipe beforehand would have been very useful. Don't change anything with the class, however add staff to monitor the email address given out so people can get the most of the class.

I have a 49 year old Sunbeam Mixmaster with regular beaters; no dough beaters. Would I still be able to make the bread. Also, will you we baking Italian bread and why would we need wheat flour. Thank you
Answer from anonymous
Hi! If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can knead your dough by hand - I will demo both! We will be making a whole wheat loaf, white rolls, and a lemon-herb butter.
