Embroider Your Own Garment WebJam

Take your tee, bandana or sweatshirt to the next level with one of our favorite crafty skills: embroidery! Learn the basics, from how to set your hoop to how to make your first stitch, and see how easy it is to add a custom touch to your wardrobe in this fun, beginner-friendly workshop. You’ll learn a few universal embroidery techniques plus how to apply cool designs to your tees to create your own unique, totally on-trend look!

In this WebJam you will learn:

• How to prep your embroidery hoop
• How to create and transfer your design onto the garment
• How to select the perfect thread
• How to begin and end your embroidery project
• How to create essential embroidery stitches, such as the running stitch, back stitch, and chain stitch

This class is beginner-friendly; no experience necessary! Choose a t-shirt, (light fabric) tote bag, sweatshirt, bandana, or similar item of clothing from your closet and get ready to stitch!

Suggested supplies:

• Embroidery needle
• Embroidery floss
• Embroidery hoop
• Garment of your choice (including an extra piece of scrap fabric to practice stitches on first)
• Scissors
• Pencil

Neither is an option for you? Look around your home for your true DIY-ad-hoc-emergency-embroidery-kit. Maybe you have a sewing kit from your last hotel stay? You can start with a needle, thread, and pretty much any piece of (woven) fabric. These might not be the ideal supplies, but enough to participate to get those creative juices flowing.

And this is how a WebJam works:

After you purchase your ticket, you will receive an email with a custom URL link to join. You will be able to add the event to your calendar. Reminder emails will be sent 2 hour and 45 minutes prior to the start. Make sure to login a few minutes before the WebJam starts to avoid technical difficulties that may delay you.

While using Zoom we strongly recommend video participation. Unlike traditional webinars, we’re keeping our classes small and intimate. CraftJam was founded to foster community amongst its participants and part of this is seeing and interacting with each other as well as the option to receive feedback and support for your projects from your JamMaster.
