Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this floral design class:

Floral arrangement is the ultimate combination of technique and placement that sets the tone of a room. As a focal centerpiece, each arrangement needs to fit the occasion and match the personality of the artist. Additionally, each unique design requires a visual balance of color and texture.

In this class, Alisa will guide you through the basics of florals and how to properly care for each piece as they come together in a beautiful fall centerpiece and wreath. Through Alisa’s loose and airy style, she will show you how to create the perfect mix of fall colors and textures to your home.

Each student will learn the mechanics of a floral vase design. Starting with your own personal style palate, you will learn the different types of accents and fillers that will create the base of your own design using local fall foliage. You will learn how to create centerpieces and wreaths that pulls away from symmetry and flow with natural movement.

Using fall’s dahlias, eucalyptus, and other seasonal greenery, you will create gorgeous, aromatic pieces that match your aesthetic and color preferences. By learning the qualities of seasonal foliage, you can refresh any room with a touch of the outdoors and the autumnal scents that welcome the upcoming season.

Important Thing to Note:
You’ll take home a fall centerpiece and wreath with you at the end of the class.

I expected more structured, actionable insights on floral design & arrangement. The course was more like playing with flowers in a way that didn't make me feel I walked away with any new skills.

I really liked that we created two floral pieces, the centerpiece and the wreath. I also liked the timing of the class and the flowers presented. This allowed me to create pieces well suited to the upcoming holiday. Our instructor was friendly and well-prepared with all materials and notes on the board. My only recommendation is to provide each participant with her set of flowers. This allows for greater equity and may reduce waste.
