Jody Arnhold
Jody Gottfried Arnhold is a dance educator and advocate for dance and is the Founder of the Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) at 92nd Street Y. DEL was recently named best program by the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO). Jody is Honorary Chair of the Board of Ballet Hispanico, serves on the Advisory Council for Arts Education for the New York City Department of Education and is Co-Chair of the Committee that created the NYC DOE Curriculum Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Dance PreK-12. She is Chair of the Hunter College Dance Advisory Committee, Vice Chair of the Board of the Center for Arts Education and is Chairman of the Dance Center Task Force at 92nd Street Y where she serves on the Board. Jody received the Visionary Award from NDEO in 2009, the Spotlight in Dance Education Award presented by the New York City Department of Education in June 2008 and the Irmy Award for Dance Education from the Laban Institute of Movement Studies in November 2008. She earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, an M.A. in Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and is a Certified Movement Analyst. Jody taught dance in the NYC public schools for 25 years.

Kendra Portier
Kendra Portier an NYC-based maker, teacher and performer. Her projects are primarily dance works, though she draws heavily upon her visual art practice. Originally from Ostrander, OH, Kendra received a BFA with Honors from the Ohio State University, lived in NYC-then-Boston-then-back to NYC and recently received an MFA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has had the fortune of working with inspiring folks in multiple capacities from San Diego to Salzburg and Dushanbe. Among them include an 8-year tenure with David Dorfman Dance, 13 years with Vanessa Justice Dance, Lisa Race/Race Dance, Sara Hook, Alexandra Beller Dance, Nicole Wolcott Dance, numerous guest artist residencies, and faculty positions at Gibney Dance Center, Mark Morrris Dance Center, Bates Dance Festival, Peridance and more. Her work, housed under the moniker BAND (BAND|portier, BAND|kp), has been presented throughout the East Coast by multiple and diverse venues, earning the Bates Dance Festival Emerging Choreographer Residency (ME), Harkness Choreographer in Residence (NYC), Tisch Dance Space Residencies (NYC), Mary Elizabeth Hamstrong Award (IL) and the Wand M. Nettl Prize for Choreogprahy (IL). Currently, she lives in and between NYC and DC as faculty at Gibney Dance Center (NYC), Artist in Residence at the University of Maryland, and in-process with her new work Burnish (Magenta #2).
