Richard Newman

Teaches at California Center for Digital Arts

Richard is a nationally recognized video producer, video education leader, internationally known speaker, and President of Newman Media Works, based in Monterey, CA, which produces videos for web, TV, corporate video, and various standalone applications. His extensive experience as a ‘hands-on instructor’ fits with the Center’s belief in hands-on instruction and personal mentoring from teachers who have achieved success in their areas of expertise.

Prior to joining the Center, Richard has co-chaired the “Silver Conference on Black-and-White Photography” Art Center College of Design, served as on-site Co-Director and Instructor at the Calumet Institute at the University of Maryland at Salisbury where he also earned his teaching certification, and has taught numerous courses with the Santa Fe and Maine Workshops. Richard earned a Golden Reel for sound mixing on Niti the Enforcer, worked on the Emmy winning team for Hill Street Blues, and has completed more than two dozen video.
