Discover a safe and comfortable environment for your little one to learn swimming skills with experienced instructors at East Los Angeles College. Join our swim program designed for preschoolers and their parents/guardians. Follow basic pool etiquette and enjoy the progress your child makes in the water!
All swim classes are taught in our safe, comfortable indoor swim stadium pool. Our swim program is staffed by experienced certified swim instructors and lifeguards. Classes are designed so that students who enter the beginning levels will successfully progress into the more advanced levels.
All students are expected to follow basic “public pool” etiquette and wear proper swimwear. For safety and security reasons all parents, guardians of children and other spectators must be seated in the swim stadium bleachers to observe the lessons. No one other than registered students will be allowed on the pool deck.
Please note:
There are no refunds or transfers after a class begins. Requests to withdraw from a class or transfer to another Community Services class must be done 5 OR MORE DAYS prior to the first class meeting. There is a $15 service charge per class for each refund or transfer requested. If you enrolled in a class less than 5 days prior to the first class meeting, NO refunds will be given. There are no refunds or credits for absences and late registrations are not pro-rated. Missed class meetings may not be made up in another class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
Students who attended Parent and Preschooler Swim classes, which are designed for children ages 2-5, had negative reviews overall. One reviewer mentioned that the classes were shorter than advertised, with only 30 minutes of instruction instead of the expected 45 minutes. Another reviewer expressed concern about the cold water, stating that their child was shivering and had purple lips throughout the class, which made it difficult for them to feel comfortable in the water. As a result, they did not recommend the classes and even left one class early. It is clear that the classes did not meet the expectations of these parents.
