You will be introduced to the slab roller and guided through a few projects utilizing slabs, coils and pinch pot techniques. You’ll become very comfortable working with coils, pinch pots and slabs, then using these techniques in combination to model your work.

Students will learn basics of hand-building with clay using techniques in pinching, coiling, and slab-building. Various projects that will be created are masks, pinched and coiled pottery, and animal/creature sculptures. All work will be bisque/glaze fired.
Students will spend two weeks learning to throw plates, bowls, cups and other creations on the potter’s wheel, one week learning to finish (“trim”) their thrown work, and one week glazing. All work will be bisque/glaze fired.
