Michael Y. Lee & Carlo Giardinetti

Michael Y. Lee is a Doctoral Candidate in Management at Harvard Business School studying novel organizational designs, and how formal structure can be leveraged to foster greater organizational effectiveness. His dissertation research explores the dynamics and consequences of radical approaches to less-hierarchical organizing, focusing on a novel organizational system called Holacracy. Michael has worked in a variety of organizational contexts and sectors. Most recently, he served as an engagement leader for a global management consulting firm where he advised corporate, private equity, and social sector clients. Michael earned his AB magna cum laude in Social Studies from Harvard University and an MBA from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Carlo Giardinetti is an expert practitioner of self-organization principles, and a certified Holacracy Facilitator. After a career as a professional soccer player in Italy, Carlo moved into a fast-advancing career in the hospitality industry managing hotels and resorts in Italy, Tanzania, Kenya, Maldives, Egypt, and Ukraine. Now "living his third professionaly life," he works in the education management space as Associate Dean at Business School Lausanne in Switzerland. Carlo earned his MBA from Manchester Business School, and is currently completing a DBA in Sustainable Business at Business School Lausanne.
