Corrina Sephora

Teaches at Corrina Sephora Studios

Corrina Sephora began her life-long interest in metalworking at the age of five in her father’s workshop, where she was introduced to the art of boat building. In 1995, Corrina went on to receive her BFA in Sculpture and Metalsmithing from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she has since established her own studio, specializing in sculpture, furniture, and architectural works.

Corrina's personal work often uses the imagery of boats and ships as metaphors for life experiences, and as story-telling tools. The boat form is a vessel and magical symbol for transition, while the ocean represents mystery and power, and the ebb and flow of the past and present.

In 2005, Corrina received her MFA in Sculpture from Georgia State University. She has taught on the college level, and presented at national and international blacksmithing workshops and conferences. Her prestigious metalworking awards include “Best in Show” from Annette Cone-Skelton of MOCA GA, Silver Award from Icarus International, Silver Sculpture Award from NOMMA, and a number of other awards. Corrina’s metalwork is on permanent display in Atlanta at the Martin Luther King National Historic Site, The Atlanta Botanical Gardens, King and Spaulding’s Contemporary Art Collection, Temple Sinai, and many private collections internationally. She continues to exhibit in museums, galleries, and public art venues.

I throughly enjoyed the beginning welding class! Corrina was informative, and easy to work with. Made even the extreme beginner (me) completely at easy. It was just enough information given that gives you some good basics, without bombarding you with too much. I am looking forward to enrolling in future classes to continue learning, and growing my skills. I would highly recommend this class to anyone that is curious if welding would be for them. It’ll give you a good idea, without having to break the bank deciding if it’s right for you… Odds are you’ll love it, and start planning a workshop in your head before you even leave the class! Thanks so much for the experience!

The best class I have taken! I am so grateful for this Weekend Welding Workshop experience. Corrina is an incredibly talented and accomplished mixed media artist, so it is special to be able to learn to form her. What you create is entirely up to you with guidance from Corrina and Richard. They both are welcoming and make you feel at ease. I am still in awe that I was able to create this vision I had for several years with no experience. Thank you Corrina for creating this workshop. I will be back!

Absolutely do this course if you have any interest in metal working! I built a set of skewers to cook things over fire. They are awesome! Corrina is a wonderful instructor. I had all the creative freedom to do what I wanted and all the assistance, both creative and otherwise, I could have asked for.

Gabi does an amazing job teaching the Intro to Welding class. They are very patient and explains everything in a way that someone new to welding can understand. They are also very good at making you feel comfortable in a situation that warrants being a bit nervous. The class was a lot of fun. Highly Recommended!

This was a wonderful class to take for a beginning welder. I took the class with my two daughters and my grand-daughter; the women in my family are up for learning all kinds of skills! The instructor, Eli, did a fantastic job. His explanations, demonstrations, and personal help was very thorough and demonstrated much skill and knowledge. The class size was small, which gave everyone plenty of one on one time with the teacher. Everyone in the class was friendly and supportive. We had a lot of fun and plan to take more classes in the future. Elaine Adams

What a great course! I learned a lot and I had fun doing it. The time flew by. Corinna is knowledgeable, professional and very cordial. And, judging from the work I saw in and around her shop, she is the real deal; a very accomplished artist/blacksmith/welder. As the course title states, this is an introductory course. Each student got to work on a small project using an oxy/actylene torch and a MIG welder. So, it was hands on learning. I believe all of the students in the class felt it was well worth their time and the cost. I know I did. This was my first experience with CourseHorse and the registration and communication was great. And, Corinna said I was the first of her many students to sign up via the site. Thanks Corinna. -- Mike - a.k.a. CourseHorse Mike.
